Lisa Kelley, Managing Director
Lisa is an accomplished Senior Finance / Operations Executive and Board Member with more than 25 years of success in the electronics, telecommunications, manufacturing, and consumer goods industries. Leveraging extensive, well-diversified financial and management experience, she is a valuable asset for mid capital private or public companies that are in acquisition or growth mode. Her broad areas of expertise include financial discipline, leadership, strategy, vision, growth, organizational restructuring, and alignment.
Previous to establishing Floating Interest's consulting practice, Lisa was the VP of Global Logistics at Avnet, Inc. (AVT), a Fortune 500 company that markets, distributes and adds value to a wide variety of electronics components, enterprise computer products and embedded subsystems to a broad base of more than 100,000 customers and 800 suppliers with over $20 billion in revenue operating in 100+ countries. As VP of Global Logistics:
- established a foreign trade zone and tariff drawback processing center to mitigate and manage foreign trade/tariff policies saving and improving cash flows by over $50M
- negotiated global transportation carrier agreements improving service and costs by 10%
Lisa joined Avnet as the Chief Audit Executive leading risk management strategy and establishing global audit practice in trade compliance, anti-corruption and data privacy/cyber-security.
Prior to joining Avnet in 2014, Lisa was in several senior leadership roles at Asurion, a global leader in technology protection services with over $6 billion in revenue. During Lisa’s nine years with Asurion she primarily served as the Group CFO for Asurion Global Supply Chain, Customer Care & Program Management. She lead several key initiatives during her tenure at Asurion including:
- established key financial and operational metrics increasing profitability 2.5x over three years
- focused supply chain management on reducing inventory days on hand from over 60 days to less than 30 days while the shipment volume tripled
- partnered with procurement to build the Asian supply chain headquarters and infrastructure, developed flexible pricing models and methodologies based on client and product, and partnered with tax professionals to re-organize operational entities and transactions to optimize taxes.
Before joining Asurion, Lisa was the Chief Accounting Officer for Brightpoint, a publicly traded company, which was acquired by Ingram Micro in 2012. Brightpoint was a $1.9 billion distribution and logistics services company supporting the global wireless telecommunications and data industry.
From 1992 through 2003, Lisa had varied roles with Plexus Corp., a publicly traded global electronics contract manufacturer. As Vice-President of Corporate Development:
- managed the entire merger and acquisition process including prospecting, diligence, negotiation and integration resulting in approximately 50% of fiscal 2002 gross revenue
- developed European and Asian regional business strategy plans
- provided direction and methodology for continuous strategic thinking and planning
As Vice-President of Finance, Corporate Controller and Treasurer:
- negotiated $200 million revolving credit facility resulting in over 15% annual savings
- raised $50 million through asset-backed security financing
- negotiated 3 year insurance programs resulting in over 10% annual savings
- re-negotiated $60 million equipment lease rates saving over 20% in monthly payments
- participated in financial requirements and filings for a secondary offering
Lisa has six years of public accounting experience, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with a MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
Lisa has been on non-profit boards including Board Developer Foundation, Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) Board of Trustees, Chair of the AICPA Joint Trial Board, Arizona Sustainability Alliance Advisory Board and past-chair of Tennessee State University Accounting Advisory Board. She is active within her profession as she serves on various executive committees for the AICPA, AACSB Accounting Accreditation committee, past-chair of the Financial Executives International - Nashville chapter, and a past-member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
